IKORODU COURT DIRECTS DUAL DNA TESTS ON LATE MOHBAD’S CHILD
A Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has ordered DNA testing for Liam Aloba, the two-year-old son of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The directive was issued on Tuesday by Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga following an application filed by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba.
In the suit, Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, was named as the respondent.
At the hearing, Joseph Aloba’s counsel, Augustine Adegbemi, presented the motion, which faced no objection from Omowunmi’s lawyer, Kabir Akingbolu.
The court ruled that two separate DNA tests be conducted—one in Nigeria and the other abroad. Both examinations are to be carried out in accredited medical facilities, with representatives of both parties present during sample collection.
The matter was adjourned to November 11 for further proceedings.
