IGBOHO WARNS AGAINST PLOT TO DETHRONE OLUBADAN
Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has warned that any attempt to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, could trigger unrest in Oyo State.
Igboho spoke in a video shared by local media platform Oyo Affairs on Friday, following earlier allegations of a plot to dethrone the monarch.
He said any governor who attempted to remove Ladoja would face resistance, insisting that the traditional ruler should be treated with respect.
“If any governor tries it, it is from Soka here that this state would be shaking,” he said.
Igboho questioned why anyone would consider removing the Olubadan, pointing to the monarch’s roots in the state.
“Why will you remove Olubadan? All of us are from Oyo State,” he added.
He also addressed claims that some people were planning to ambush the monarch. Igboho warned against any attempt to intimidate or attack Ladoja, whether at his residence or elsewhere.
According to him, such claims should remain rumours and must never become an actual threat to the monarch’s safety.
The video contained warnings about an alleged removal plot and possible ambush, but the account provided did not establish that either plan existed.
