Popular Nollywood actress and on-air personality, Omotunde Adebowale-David, widely known as Lolo 1, has stirred conversations online after openly expressing her preference for polygamy over secret affairs.

Speaking during a recent podcast with fellow actress Bimbo Akintola, Lolo stated that she would rather a man choose polygamy than engage in infidelity.

“I would rather a man be polygamous than for him to be married and have a side chick. That’s the one I would not contend with,”
Lolo said.

According to her, polygamy allows for honesty and fairness, giving co-wives a defined place in the relationship, unlike the deceit that often comes with extramarital affairs.

Bimbo Akintola, in agreement, pointed out that the “side-chick culture” began when men were pressured to marry women considered “wife material” instead of the ones they genuinely loved.

She stressed the importance of transparency and honesty in relationships, urging both men and women to pursue sincerity rather than societal approval.

Lolo’s remarks have since generated diverse reactions on social media, with many Nigerians debating whether polygamy or side relationships pose the greater threat to modern marriages.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
