Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has confirmed the abduction of two of its staff members in the Ogun region.

In a statement issued on Monday in Ibadan, the company said the incident occurred on April 29, 2026, expressing concern over the safety of the affected employees.

IBEDC said it is working closely with security agencies to secure their release and has remained in contact with the victims’ families, providing necessary support.

The company, however, noted that it could not disclose further details due to the sensitive nature of the situation and ongoing efforts to resolve it.

It appealed for understanding, assuring that updates would be provided as appropriate while prioritising the safety and well-being of the abducted staff.
