IBBU STUDENT DIES AFTER COLLAPSING IN OFF-CAMPUS RESIDENCE
The Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of a 200-level student, Adamu Fatima Muhammad.
Fatima, a student of Biochemistry in the Faculty of Natural Sciences with matriculation number U23/FNS/BCH/1093, reportedly collapsed at her off-campus lodge in Lapai. She was immediately rushed to the General Hospital, Lapai, where she was later confirmed dead.
Eyewitnesses said the student suddenly took ill before collapsing. Sources revealed that Fatima had earlier lost both parents and was living with her guardian in Suleja, Niger State, along with her only surviving brother.
“She was a humble and dedicated student. Her passing is a tragedy that has thrown the entire university community into mourning,” a source close to the family said.
Her burial took place on Monday in Lapai, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The university community has continued to express grief over the tragic incident, with students and staff describing her as disciplined, humble, and hardworking.
