IBADAN FOUNDATION TO FOCUS ON AGRICULTURE, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
The Ibadan Foundation is set to hold its 2026 annual lecture with a focus on agriculture and its role in community development and social relationships in Ibadan.
The lecture, scheduled for September 17, will be held at the Ibadan Civic Centre, Idi-Ape, beginning at 11am.
The event is themed “Cultivating Community: Ibadan Social Dynamics in Agriculture” and is expected to examine how agricultural activities influence social interactions and development within the city.
The organisers said the annual lecture is part of the foundation’s efforts to promote discussions on issues affecting society and contribute to the development of Ibadanland.
The lecture will be delivered by Prof Felix Salako, a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
Retired Maj Gen Asimiyu Olaniyi will chair the event, while the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, is expected to attend as the special guest of honour.
The foundation said the programme would provide an opportunity for stakeholders to examine the connection between agriculture, community life and the wider socio-economic development of Ibadan.
