I WON’T DELAY FILLING VACANT CHIEFTAINCY POSITIONS – OLUBADAN-DESIGNATE LADOJA ASSURES IBADAN CHIEFS
Olubadan-Designate Ladoja Promises Quick Action on Vacant Chieftaincy Roles
The Olubadan-designate of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has promised not to delay the appointment of new chiefs to fill existing vacancies in the Olubadan chieftaincy line.
Oba Ladoja made this assurance while hosting the Asipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, at his Lagos residence. The meeting, which came shortly after the passing of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, was described as both reflective and forward-looking.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Adeola Oloko, the former governor of Oyo State said although he wasn’t in Ibadan when the late Olubadan passed on, he remains fully committed to the traditions and administrative continuity of the chieftaincy structure.
“Kabiyesi Olakulehin lived an impactful life and gave a good account of himself,” Ladoja said, paying tribute to his predecessor. “There would be no delay in filling every pending vacancy in the Olubadan chieftaincy line.”
His words offered reassurance to many within the Ibadan traditional council who have been waiting for the next steps following the transition of Oba Olakulehin.
In response, Oba Kola-Daisi condoled with Ladoja and pledged his loyalty and support as the new chapter in Ibadan’s royal leadership begins.
As the city prepares for Ladoja’s formal installation as Olubadan, his commitment to upholding customs and ensuring a smooth leadership structure is seen as a strong signal of unity and continuity in Ibadanland.
