Nigerian singer and music executive, Tobi Mohammed, popularly known as Alhaji Popping, has opened up on a near-death experience that changed his outlook on life.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Adesope Live Show, the artiste recalled how he and fellow musician Rayce narrowly escaped death after terrorists attacked them in Bauchi State in 2017.

According to him, the assailants, who were dressed in military uniforms, fired multiple rounds at their car during the incident.

“Me and Rayce were shot at 10 times in Bauchi in a car in 2017 by guys wearing military uniforms. If my mom watches this, she’s going to call me and pray for me because I didn’t tell her about the incident,” he revealed.

Alhaji Popping said bullets pierced several parts of the vehicle—including the steering, the air conditioning system, and the boot—yet miraculously, none struck him or his colleague.

He described the survival as a turning point that deepened his faith in God.

“The experience is one of the things that have made me very close to God. Because I realised that everything that has happened to me was an expression of grace,” he added.

The singer emphasized that the shocking ordeal continues to shape his perspective on life and career.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
