I STAGED MY KIDNAP TO EXTORT N25M FROM FAMILY — DELTA MAN

A man in Delta State has confessed to staging his own kidnap in a bid to extort N25 million from his family members, according to police authorities.

The suspect, whose identity is being withheld for security reasons, was arrested after his elaborate plot unravelled. Police sources revealed that he conspired with accomplices to simulate the abduction and demand ransom from his relatives.

The Delta State Police Command confirmed the arrest and said the suspect is undergoing interrogation. “This is a disturbing case of self-orchestrated crime. We will ensure he faces the full wrath of the law,” a police spokesperson stated.

The incident has sparked outrage and renewed discussions on the rising trend of staged kidnappings for financial gain in parts of the country.
