I SPEND N40,000 DAILY ON ELECTRICITY, PETE EDOCHIE LAMENTS
Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has voiced his concerns over the challenges Nigerians face in accessing basic amenities. Speaking about the country’s worsening economic conditions, the 78-year-old revealed the high costs he incurs for electricity and fuel.
On a recent episode of AIT’s programme JIGSAW, Edochie stated that he spends N40,000 to cover electricity and diesel expenses, breaking it down as N10,000 for electricity and N30,000 for fuel.
“It is very disturbing. Nobody seems concerned about the struggles of the ordinary citizen. Why must things get worse each day? Can we not improve?” he asked.
Edochie also criticized political leaders for marginalizing the South-East region, particularly in infrastructure allocation. “There was a time when the South-East was cut off in terms of railway transportation. Why must there be a consistent step backward?” he questioned.
