Popular Nigerian music promoter, K-Light, has opened up about his biggest life regret — marrying a single mother of two.

In a recent interview, the entertainment producer recounted how his relationship with the woman began, revealing that he was already in a serious relationship when she first sent him a friend request.

According to K-Light, the woman strategically positioned herself after his then-girlfriend ended their relationship due to family opposition to marrying a Yoruba man. He claimed the breakup was manipulated behind the scenes by the woman who would later become his wife.

“I only realised later that I had been under some kind of influence,” he said.

Despite her being a single mother raising two children without a father figure, K-Light said he fully committed to the relationship. He supported her financially, paid for her children’s education, and even rented a self-contained apartment in Ibadan for her comfort.

“If I made ₦500,000, I could give her ₦350,000 first and still manage the remaining ₦150,000,” he disclosed.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, K-Light said he earned over ₦4 million from a project with artist Dotman, which he used to pay her bride price and cover wedding expenses.

After their marriage, the couple initially lived in a mini-flat in Lagos, later upgrading to a two-bedroom apartment when she became pregnant with his child. However, according to him, things began to change after that.

“Her interest in the marriage started to fade when she got pregnant. That was when our problems truly began,” he lamented.

K-Light’s emotional revelation has since sparked discussions on social media about trust, manipulation, and financial imbalance in relationships, with many sharing mixed opinions on his experience and decisions.
