“I NEVER FAKE CARE” — NWABALI OPENS UP AMID TEAM TENSIONS, SHOWS SUPPORT FOR OSIMHEN
Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has shared a cryptic message on Instagram believed to be directed at striker Victor Osimhen.
The post follows a tense moment during Nigeria’s 4–0 victory over Benin Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which saw Nwabali involved in heated exchanges with teammates Wilfred Ndidi and Calvin Bassey.
Osimhen netted a hat-trick in the encounter, helping the Super Eagles advance to the continental playoffs.
However, Nwabali faced criticism from fans and pundits for his recent performances, especially after making costly errors in the 2–1 win against Lesotho the previous week. Despite the backlash, head coach Eric Chelle retained faith in the Chippa United goalkeeper.
During the match against Benin, Nwabali appeared visibly frustrated—he shoved Ndidi, who attempted to calm him down following a confrontation with a Benin player. Later, as the players headed off the pitch at halftime, he was also seen exchanging words with Bassey.
Amid the growing scrutiny, Nwabali took to Instagram to share a post that read:
“I never fake care anyone. What I give, I give from my heart. Choose a good heart. People change so fast… I believe you VO9.”
