A heated social media clash erupted on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, between Nigerian rapper Zinoleesky and Ghanaian singer Moliy, after the latter dismissed rumours of a collaboration between them.

The drama began when Moliy reacted to a viral flyer hinting at a possible collab with Zinoleesky by replying “Who?” — a response widely seen as a jab at the Nigerian star.

Her dismissive comment didn’t sit well with Zinoleesky, who quickly fired back on X (formerly Twitter), calling her a “2 hits wonder” and claiming he barely knew her songs.

“2 hits wonder… and I don’t even know the 2nd song @Moliymusic,” Zinoleesky wrote.

Moliy, in turn, clapped back, saying she was thankful he didn’t know her and emphasizing that she doesn’t associate with what she called “local champions.”

“Very grateful to not be known by you. Artists that know me aren’t local champions,” she replied.

The exchange has since sparked a wave of reactions online, with some of Zinoleesky’s fans threatening to “cancel” Moliy in Nigeria, while others defended her confidence and global success.

Moliy is better known in the UK and US Afrobeats scenes, boasting two Official Charts and two Billboard Hot 100 entries. Her latest track, “Shake It To The Max Remix,” currently holds the No. 1 spot on the US Billboard Afrobeats Chart.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
