I DON’T KNOW ABOUT ADELEKE JOINING APC – OMISORE SPEAKS ON DEFECTION RUMOURS

Former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Iyiola Omisore, has denied having any knowledge about rumours that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is planning to defect to the APC.

Speaking during an interview on Politics Today, a programme aired on Channels Television on Wednesday, Omisore responded to growing speculations about Governor Adeleke's possible move from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

“I’m not aware of any such plan,” Omisore said. “But in politics, if someone wants to join a party, there must be a willing reception from existing members. Politics is very local.”

When asked if Adeleke’s defection would strengthen the APC in Osun State, Omisore chose not to give a direct answer but said there’s nothing wrong with him joining.

However, he stressed that defections should not be based on social media rumours. He noted that political movements require proper internal conversations, not just online chatter.

Omisore added that the political atmosphere in Osun is becoming tense due to the speculation, with some PDP members also reportedly reaching out to APC leaders.

As of now, Governor Adeleke has not made any official statement about leaving the PDP, and the rumour remains unconfirmed.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
