“I BLEND TRADITIONAL SPIRITUALITY WITH CHRISTIAN FAITH” – SUNDAY IGBOHO
Yoruba self-determination advocate, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has revealed that he combines traditional spiritual practices with his Christian beliefs.
He made the disclosure while speaking before a council of traditional rulers, where he openly discussed his religious upbringing, personal history, and spiritual convictions. According to him, the use of charms does not conflict with his Christian faith.
“I am a Christian, but I also use charms. I embrace all religions. Even Muideen Ajayi Bello is a Muslim, while I am a Christian. I was born in the church, but I was trained in the use of charms. Everyone knows my father is a babalawo in Modakeke,” he stated.
The Yoruba nation agitator is originally from Igboho in the Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State. His family later relocated to Modakeke in Osun State, where he was raised under his father’s guidance.
Igboho’s campaign for Yoruba self-determination and his push to drive out violent Fulani herders from the Southwest reportedly drew the ire of the Nigerian government.
