HOTEL ASSOCIATION WARNS MEMBERS AGAINST LODGING CRIMINALS
The Nigeria Hotel Association has warned hotel operators across the country against accommodating criminals, including suspected internet fraudsters.
The association’s National President, Patrick Anyanwu, issued the caution while addressing journalists in Owerri during a meeting with national executives and state chairmen.
He stressed that any hotelier found harbouring criminals would face serious consequences, noting that the association is committed to maintaining industry standards and protecting the sector’s reputation.
Anyanwu also urged hotel owners to comply with operational regulations and register with the association at both state and national levels, warning that unregistered hotels could face sanctions, including possible closure.
He highlighted the importance of the hospitality sector as a major employer and contributor to Nigeria’s economy, while calling on government support through policies, grants, and collaboration.
The association added that it would also resist harassment of its members, even as it seeks to sanitise and strengthen standards within the industry.
