HILDA BACI UNVEILS MASSIVE INGREDIENTS FOR WORLD’S LARGEST JOLLOF RICE
Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci is once again making headlines as she embarks on a bold attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
Ahead of the event, held in Lagos, Hilda shared a video showcasing the jaw-dropping quantity of ingredients needed for the record-breaking dish. The lineup included sacks of pepper, tomatoes, onions, kegs of vegetable oil, heaps of seasoning cubes, tomato purée, and more — all in massive quantities.
Earlier, she also posted clips of herself cleaning the 22,619-litre pot, which is about 6 meters in diameter. To fill the giant pot, Hilda revealed that she would be cooking with at least 250 bags of rice, aiming to fill it up to about 80% capacity.
The cook-off, which is as much a culinary spectacle as it is community service, will see teams of assistants handling the enormous prep work — from slicing mountains of onions, cleaning baskets of peppers, to unwrapping thousands of seasoning cubes.
Fans on social media had a field day reacting to the video:
“Abeg who go grind the pepper, who go cut the onions, who go wash rice, who go open Maggi ,” Bisola joked.
“Why small small onions? Unna for buy big big ones! Who go slice am ,” another user wrote.
“Everyone go dey break record o — most onions cut in history, most Maggi unwrapped,” Chioma teased.
Despite the playful banter, many praised Hilda for her resilience and faith. One supporter wrote: “Go Hilda, as you put your faith in Jesus and still doing your best, God will never let you down. I’m rooting for you 💯.”
With excitement in the air, all eyes are on Hilda Baci as she sets out to put Nigeria’s beloved jollof rice into the world record books.
