HILDA BACI SETS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR LARGEST POT OF JOLLOF RICE IN LAGOS
Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has made history again, this time earning a Guinness World Record for the largest serving of jollof rice.
The record-breaking feat was officially confirmed by Guinness World Records on their X (Twitter) page:
“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
The culinary milestone was set on September 12, 2025, at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, during the Gino World Jollof Festival. The event drew thousands of attendees and created a major buzz across social media.
Hilda Baci, who first gained global recognition in 2023 after setting the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has now further cemented her place as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.
The Lagos festival was a star-studded affair, with personalities like Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Pastor Idowu, and Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, all present to cheer her on.
With this latest recognition, Hilda Baci continues to showcase Nigerian cuisine on the world stage, proving once again that jollof rice is more than just food—it’s culture, pride, and a unifying force.
