Reality TV star Tacha has expressed deep frustration over how Nigerians are reacting to actress Regina Daniels’ recent allegations of being drugged and assaulted.

Tacha, whose real name is Natasha Akide, said the way the public is treating the situation shows how difficult it is to be a woman in Nigeria. Instead of showing concern or demanding answers, she noted that many people are attacking Regina Daniels because of her lifestyle.

Speaking on her X (Twitter) account, Tacha wrote:

“Being a woman in this part of the world feels like a crime. Someone cries out that she’s been r*ped, drugged, and beaten, and instead of outrage, society starts dragging her for flying private jets and traveling the world. So because she lived well, she deserves to be abused?”

She went on to criticize the society that often excuses violence against women while focusing on irrelevant issues such as a woman’s wealth or social status.

“That’s the sickness of this society — a place where people justify violence against women but envy their freedom. At this point, what hope does the girl child even have?”

Her post has sparked reactions online, especially among women and young Nigerians advocating for justice and safe spaces for survivors of abuse.

Former BBNaija winner Phyna also weighed in, expressing disbelief at how casually the issue is being treated.

According to her:

“A girl gets injected and r*ped in a man’s house, steady hospital yet everybody is laughing. Omo… Being a woman is hard.”

Both reality stars called for empathy, accountability, and a more responsible approach to discussing sensitive issues involving women.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
