HARRY MAGUIRE: “MAN UNITED BLOCKED MY EXIT THIS SUMMER”
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has revealed that the club stopped him from leaving during the summer transfer window, despite interest from several teams.
Speaking on his situation, Maguire admitted:
“I am almost certain that Man United made it clear this summer that I could not leave under any circumstances. Several clubs inquired, and I think they were quickly told.”
The 32-year-old centre-back, who joined United from Leicester City in 2019 for £80 million, has had a rollercoaster career at Old Trafford. He was once the team’s captain but was later stripped of the armband after a tough spell that saw him fall out of favour with both fans and managers.
However, under new boss Ruben Amorim, Maguire seems to be enjoying a fresh start, regaining form and confidence in the heart of United’s defence.
While his future may have been uncertain over the summer, it’s now clear that United still see him as a key part of their plans — at least for the foreseeable future.
