Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has marked his 62nd birthday by reaffirming his commitment to serving the people and contributing to the continued development of the state. Hamzat used the occasion to reflect on his years of public service and express appreciation to God, his family, colleagues and residents of Lagos for their support.

The Deputy Governor said reaching the age of 62 offered an opportunity for reflection and renewed dedication to the responsibilities entrusted to him. He acknowledged the privilege of serving in government and said he remained committed to supporting policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of residents and advancing the development of Lagos State.

Hamzat also expressed gratitude for the people who have played significant roles throughout his personal and professional journey. He recognised the support of his family and associates, as well as the confidence placed in him by the Lagos State Government and residents. According to him, the birthday was not merely a celebration but also a reminder of the responsibility that comes with public office.

The Deputy Governor has served alongside Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the administration of Lagos State, where he has been involved in various government programmes and initiatives. His public career has included roles in engineering, academia and government, giving him experience across both professional and public-sector responsibilities.

As he celebrated his 62nd birthday, Hamzat pledged to continue contributing to the progress of Lagos State and Nigeria. He said the occasion had strengthened his resolve to remain focused on service, good governance and the welfare of the people, while thanking those who joined him in celebrating the milestone.
