GUNMEN ABDUCT TWO BROTHERS FROM CASSAVA FARM IN KWARA COMMUNITY
Tragedy struck in Kwara State on Wednesday night as gunmen abducted two brothers from their cassava farm in Bokungi Zambufu community, under the Lafiagi Emirate in Edu Local Government Area.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers, numbering about four, stormed the farm heavily armed and opened fire sporadically before whisking the victims away to an unknown destination.
A local source disclosed that no contact has been made by the kidnappers regarding ransom demands. However, he noted seeing security operatives with two suspects, though it remains unclear whether they were connected to the abduction.
The incident has further heightened tension in Kwara, especially as several communities in border areas between Kwara and Kogi states have recently witnessed repeated attacks by kidnappers.
In response, the Kwara State Government has urged residents of Ekiti, Ifelodun, Isin, Oke Ero, and Irepodun Local Government Areas to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary outdoor movements while security forces intensify operations against bandit activities.
