Corps Member Kidnapped Along Katsina-Ala–Takum Route

A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member has been kidnapped by armed men along the Katsina-Ala–Takum road, near the Benue–Taraba boundary.

The incident happened over the weekend when a Toyota Carina II (registration number KLD 108 AA) carrying seven passengers was travelling from Takum, Taraba State to Katsina-Ala, Benue State.

The attackers blocked the road at Tsede Village, robbing all passengers before whisking away the corps member, later identified as Saadu Dauda from Zamfara State. His identity was confirmed through his NYSC ID card found in a bag left in the vehicle.

Security agencies have launched a coordinated search to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victim.

Efforts to reach DSP Udeme Edet, spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, for an official comment were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
