GUARDIOLA INVITES FERGUSON AND WENGER TO DINNER AFTER REACHING 250 PREMIER LEAGUE WINS
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has paid tribute to legendary coaches Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger after reaching an impressive new milestone in the English Premier League.
Guardiola joined the elite list of managers to record 250 Premier League victories, achieving the feat in just 349 matches — faster than any manager in league history. The milestone came after City’s 1-0 win over Brentford on Sunday, with Erling Haaland scoring the decisive goal.
Since arriving at the Etihad in 2016, Guardiola has guided Manchester City to six Premier League titles and numerous domestic and European honours. His record eclipses those of his legendary counterparts, as Ferguson reached 250 wins in 404 games, Wenger in 423, and David Moyes in 645.
In a light-hearted gesture, Guardiola said he plans to invite Ferguson and Wenger to dinner to celebrate the achievement.
“It’s an honour for me to be alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger,” Guardiola said. “I will invite them to a good dinner — maybe not in Manchester, maybe somewhere with more sun. No, we’ll do it in Manchester!”
The Spanish tactician also credited his players, staff, and the club for their role in reaching the milestone, adding that he’s hungry for more success.
“We did it quicker, faster, better, and I’m really pleased. Now, let’s go for 250 more,” he said with a smile.
Manchester City’s victory lifted them to fifth place in the Premier League table, just three points behind leaders Arsenal, as the title race begins to heat up once again.
