Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc has maintained a capital position above the combined minimum requirement of its four operating subsidiaries, with a reported surplus of N35.69m.

The group’s share capital and premium stood slightly above the N518.84bn combined paid-up capital requirement for its subsidiaries.

The development comes as GTCO continues to operate through banking and non-banking businesses across its markets.

The group’s latest financial position also reflects a strong capital base. Its June 2026 results showed total assets of N18.6tn and shareholders’ funds of N3.3tn.

GTCO reported a capital adequacy ratio of 34.9 per cent at group level and 29.2 per cent for the banking entity at the end of June 2026.

The holding company operates banking franchises alongside businesses in payments, pension administration and funds management.

Its net loan book stood at N3.15tn in June, compared with N3.13tn at the end of December 2025, while customer deposits increased from N12.87tn to N14.19tn over the same period.

The group reported profit before tax of N603.03bn for the first half of 2026, with interest and trading income increasing year-on-year.

GTCO said the performance reflected the contribution of its core banking activities and growing non-banking businesses.

The group continues to maintain its capital position as it expands its financial services operations across Africa and the United Kingdom.
