GROUP MOVES TO RECONCILE AGGRIEVED APC FACTIONS IN LAGOS STATE

Alimosho Founders Advisory Council (AFAC 79) initiates peace dialogue to resolve internal rifts, prevent party collapse, and restore unity ahead of upcoming electoral cycles

A political group, the Alimosho Founders Advisory Council (AFAC 79), has launched a major reconciliation initiative aimed at resolving internal conflicts and unifying aggrieved factions within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.

The group expressed deep concern over growing internal divisions across key local government areas, particularly within Alimosho, warning that unchecked intra-party rivalries could undermine the ruling party's political stability and electoral prospects. Speaking on the peace initiative, representatives of AFAC 79 recalled the peaceful political atmosphere during the creation of the Alimosho Local Government Area in 1979 under former Governor Lateef Jakande, contrasting it with current factional clashes.

Emphasizing that a divided political house cannot stand, the leadership of AFAC 79 called on rival factions, party elders, and grassroots stakeholders to embrace dialogue and prioritize collective party interests over personal grievances. The council reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating open peace talks, restoring unity among party members, and rebuilding a cohesive operational structure for the APC across the state.
