GREENWICH BANK OPENS THREE BRANCHES IN LAGOS
Greenwich Bank Limited has opened three commercial banking branches in Lagos as part of its expansion following its transition from a merchant bank to a commercial bank.
The new branches are located in Surulere, Ikoyi and Victoria Island and represent the first major phase of the bank’s physical branch rollout.
The Lagos State Government commended the expansion, saying the new branches could support financial inclusion, businesses and economic activity in the state.
The Ikoyi branch was commissioned by the Lagos State Government, represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Abayomi Oluyomi.
Greenwich Holdings Group Chairman, Kayode Falowo, said the bank planned to open additional branches in other locations within the regions approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
He said the physical network would complement the bank’s digital channels and allow the institution to serve both individual and corporate customers.
Greenwich Bank Chairman, Segun Olekutuyi, described the branch openings as an important stage in the bank’s development and expansion.
The bank’s Managing Director, Benson Ogundeji, said the commercial banking licence would enable Greenwich to build on its corporate and institutional banking experience while expanding services to individuals, small businesses and other customers.
The expansion forms part of Greenwich Holdings’ wider plan to strengthen its financial services businesses and accelerate digital transformation.
