Jimenez died peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, surrounded by his family, according to a heartfelt post shared by his loved ones on Facebook.
“It’s with great sadness we share the loss of our father, Flaco Jimenez. He was surrounded by loved ones and will be missed immensely,” the family wrote. They also thanked fans for their love and support, requesting privacy during this time.
Flaco Jimenez was more than a musician — he was a cultural trailblazer who brought Tex-Mex and conjunto music to international stages. Born into a musical family, he started performing at just 7 years old and never looked back.
