Ossai Ovie, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, has voiced his disappointment over the outfits worn by Nigerian attendees at the 68th Grammy Awards.

In a post shared on his social media page, Ovie condemned what he called the poor representation of Nigerian culture at the international event, noting that Nigerian artists did not project their cultural identity through their fashion choices.

He specifically singled out Chioma Adeleke’s outfit, describing it as inappropriate and misaligned with Nigerian cultural values. Ovie also criticized her husband, music star Davido, for not discouraging the attire.

“I am disappointed in Chioma Davido’s dressing. She shouldn’t have been half-naked at the Grammys. She didn’t represent Nigerian culture well, opting instead for a revealing Western style. Cultural representation matters, and it’s crucial,” he said.

He added, “I am disappointed in Davido for allowing her to dress this way. I am really disappointed.”

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
