Government, Sproxil Deploy AI to Improve Malaria Data Collection

The Federal Government, in partnership with health technology company Sproxil, is deploying artificial intelligence to address gaps in malaria data collection and improve the country’s response to the disease.

The initiative is expected to use AI-powered tools to collect, analyse, and interpret health information, helping authorities gain a clearer understanding of malaria trends across different communities.

Officials said reliable data is essential for effective disease surveillance, resource allocation, and planning of malaria prevention and treatment programmes.

The partnership is aimed at strengthening existing health information systems and providing policymakers with more timely and accurate insights into malaria cases and patterns.

Sproxil, which has developed technology solutions for the healthcare sector, is expected to contribute its digital expertise to the initiative as stakeholders work to improve the availability and quality of malaria-related information.
