GOV ENO APPROVES ₦20,000 MONTHLY GRANT FOR AKWA IBOM CORPS MEMBERS ACROSS NIGERIA
There’s good news for Akwa Ibom indigenes serving in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) across the country, as Governor Umo Eno has approved a ₦20,000 monthly grant to support them throughout their service year.
The initiative, announced by the state government, aims to ease the financial burdens often faced by corps members, especially those posted far from home. With the rising cost of living, many young graduates find it challenging to cover basic expenses while serving.
Governor Eno, who has continued to prioritize youth welfare and empowerment, said the monthly stipends would be paid directly to all Akwa Ibom-born corps members, regardless of where they are serving in Nigeria.
“This is our way of showing support and standing by our young people as they serve our nation,” the governor noted.
The move has been widely praised by Akwa Ibom youths, parents, and community leaders, who say it will motivate corps members to carry out their assignments with less worry about financial constraints.
With this new policy, Akwa Ibom joins the list of forward-looking states investing directly in the welfare of their young graduates. The state government says it hopes the gesture will not only provide relief but also inspire the beneficiaries to remain good ambassadors of Akwa Ibom wherever they find themselves.
