Nigerian gospel artist Chidinma Ekile has opened up about a profound and harrowing spiritual experience that left her emotionally shaken but ultimately strengthened in faith.

The former Project Fame winner recounted spending 40 days in isolation, dedicating herself to prayer, fasting, and seeking divine guidance. She described the journey as one of emotional turbulence and spiritual awakening, marked by long nights outdoors, where she connected with God through worship and heartfelt conversations.

Chidinma said the period was transformative and deeply intimate, revealing a heightened awareness of God’s presence in her life.

In a particularly unsettling moment during her spiritual retreat, the singer revealed she was confronted by a dark spiritual force. One night, while alone on a mountain, she said she stood at the edge of a cliff and heard a powerful voice urging her to jump. At the brink of what could have been a fatal decision, she described feeling an invisible barrier stopping her from moving forward.

“It felt like I was on an operating table, and God was performing surgery on me — completely stripping me down,” she said. “I’ve seen so much, and material things don’t impress me anymore.

“The enemy tried to take me out before my time. The devil led me to the top of a cliff in total darkness and asked me to jump. The voice was intense. But just as I was about to, I realized I couldn’t. Something unseen blocked my path.”
