Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has nominated three commissioners-designate and approved the appointment of six political aides as part of efforts to strengthen the administration’s governance structure.

The Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Njodi, announced the appointments in a statement.

The commissioner nominees are Ahmed Wali Doho, Nasiru Adamu Degri and Muhammad A. Bello. Their names have been forwarded to the Gombe State House of Assembly for screening and approval. 

The governor also appointed Abdulmalik Jibrin and Mohammed Nuhu as Special Advisers.

Four others, Jibrin M. Ali, Sadiq Abubakar, popularly known as BB Kumo, John Launa and Danlami Sanda, were appointed Senior Special Assistants on Political and Community Engagement.

According to the state government, the appointments are intended to improve coordination and support the implementation of the administration’s development agenda.

While the appointments of the special advisers and senior special assistants took immediate effect, the three commissioner-designates will only assume office after completing the required screening and approval process by the state House of Assembly.

The latest appointments add to the governor’s administrative team as the state government continues to coordinate its programmes and policies across different sectors.
