GOMBE COMMISSIONS OVER 86KM OF ROADS AND BRIDGES
Gombe State has commissioned more than 86 kilometres of newly completed roads and bridges as part of the state government’s infrastructure development programme.
The projects were commissioned during activities under the Network-1100 initiative, which is aimed at expanding road connections across the state’s 11 local government areas.
Among the projects is the 41-kilometre Shango-Sarkin Yaki-Abuja/Bula-Bomala-Dinawa-Alagarno-Kalajanga-Tappi Road in Kwami Local Government Area.
Other projects include the 30-kilometre Kwanan Gerkwami-Tsangayari-Gerkwami-Daniya-Daban Fulani Road, the 15-kilometre Kurba-Titi-Tsangayari Road and the three-span Titi-Kurba Bridge.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the roads were designed to connect communities, improve mobility and unlock economic opportunities in rural areas.
Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, who attended the commissioning, commended the Gombe government’s infrastructure programme and said better road connections could support agricultural production and rural economies.
Yahaya said more than 1,000 kilometres of roads had been constructed under the programme as his administration entered its final phase.
The state government said the expanded network would improve the movement of people and agricultural produce while providing better access to markets and services.
