Nollywood actor, Gideon Okeke, has taken a swipe at his colleague, Jim Iyke, for posting what many have described as an inappropriate and disrespectful birthday message to veteran actress Kate Henshaw.

Jim Iyke stirred major controversy after he shared a lengthy Instagram post directed at Henshaw, which was filled with sarcasm and personal revelations. In the message, he accused Kate of treating him like a younger brother during their early years in Nollywood—even though, according to him, he had romantic intentions toward her.

He wrote things like, “F**k you, Kate… for treating me like your baby brother when you knew all that time I wanted to hit that,” and went on to describe how she supported him financially and emotionally in the past. He even added that they could have had a child in their twenties if she had allowed him to “experiment with his seed.”

Many Nigerians found the post offensive and unnecessary—especially given that it was shared publicly on her birthday.

Reacting strongly, Gideon Okeke took to his Instagram to criticize Jim Iyke’s actions. He described the post as a clear display of “narcissistic effrontery” and called Jim a “bone head.”

“It’s this kinda rubbish behaviour that people condone, that gives other people the balls to be the actual pricks that they are in real life,” Okeke wrote.

The incident has sparked debate across social media about respect, boundaries, and accountability—especially among public figures and industry veterans. While Jim Iyke has yet to respond to the backlash, many fans continue to express disappointment over his choice of words and timing.
