Galatasaray manager, Okan Buruk, has reassured fans over the fitness of Victor Osimhen ahead of their highly anticipated Turkish Super Lig clash against Beşiktaş on Saturday.

Osimhen, who scored the decisive goal in Galatasaray’s 1-0 Champions League win over Liverpool in midweek, raised concerns when he was substituted for Mauro Icardi with 19 minutes left to play.

The 26-year-old Nigerian striker had recently recovered from an ankle injury and was seen struggling with cramps during the encounter.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Buruk explained the decision:

“Osimhen doesn’t have any serious problems. He played a match after a long time. He was suffering from cramps along with fatigue. We rested him in the last training session; we expect him to be with the team in the new training session.”

His comments will come as a relief to Galatasaray supporters, who will be counting on the Super Eagles star to deliver in the derby against their fierce Istanbul rivals.
