Galatasaray insider, Kaya Temel, has shut down rumors suggesting a rift between Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and Argentine forward Mauro Icardi.

Reports of tension surfaced after statistics showed that the pair, despite playing seven matches together, have yet to register a goal or assist for one another. This sparked speculation of competition and friction between the two star attackers.

However, Temel insists that the claims are unfounded. Speaking to Habersarikirmizi, he said his sources at Galatasaray’s Kemerburgaz training facility confirm that the duo enjoy a good relationship.

“Again, there are those who like to create chaos where there isn’t any. There’s nothing to suggest that Icardi was applauded or Osimhen was upset. My reliable sources in Kemerburgaz say there’s no problem between Osimhen and Icardi; they joke around before every training session anyway,” Temel explained.

 

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray permanently in the summer of 2025, has missed the club’s last three matches in all competitions due to an ankle injury. Icardi, meanwhile, has been with the Turkish giants since September 2022.

The reassurance from insiders will come as a relief to Galatasaray fans eager to see both forwards flourish together once Osimhen returns from injury.
