FURY CONFIRMS JOSHUA FIGHT IN USA

Tyson Fury has confirmed that his long-awaited heavyweight fight against British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York, United States.

Fury announced the development on Instagram, sharing a promotional poster of himself and Joshua against the New York City skyline.

However, the former heavyweight champion did not reveal the official date for the highly anticipated fight.

The bout is expected to take place in November, with November 20 reportedly being considered as the target date.

Both Fury and Joshua are said to have signed contracts for the fight with Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority chairman, Turki Alalshikh.

Joshua had initially preferred the fight to take place in the United Kingdom, but organisers reportedly pushed for the contest to be staged in the United States.

Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said the fighter's camp had concerns about holding the fight outside the UK, particularly because of tax implications.

He, however, acknowledged that an agreement would have to work for all parties involved.

The announcement has generated mixed reactions among boxing fans, with some questioning why the all-British heavyweight showdown will not take place at a major UK venue such as Wembley Stadium.

Fury, 38, has won 36 professional fights, with his only defeats coming against Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk in their two fights in 2024.

Joshua recently returned to the ring with a victory over Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, helping to pave the way for negotiations for the blockbuster fight with Fury.

The proposed clash will be one of the biggest heavyweight boxing events in recent years, bringing together two of Britain's most popular and successful heavyweight fighters.
