FULL LIST: LIVERPOOL DRAW TOTTENHAM, MAN UNITED FACE BRIGHTON IN EFL CUP THIRD ROUND
Liverpool have been handed a tough home tie against Tottenham Hotspur in the third round of the 2026/27 EFL Cup, while Manchester United will host Brighton and Hove Albion in another all-Premier League encounter.
The third-round draw was conducted on Wednesday night following the completion of several second-round fixtures, with 32 clubs involved in the next stage of the competition. Nine Premier League clubs participating in European competitions entered the tournament at this stage.
Defending champions Manchester City will begin their title defence against Championship side Norwich City at the Etihad Stadium, while Premier League champions Arsenal will travel to newly promoted Ipswich Town.
Aston Villa will face Coventry City in a Midlands derby, while Sunderland will host Hull City. Bournemouth, meanwhile, were drawn at home against Lincoln City.

The Chelsea-Luton and Fulham-AFC Wimbledon ties had not been completed when the third-round draw was made. The winners of those matches will determine the remaining two third-round pairings.
The Liverpool-Tottenham clash stands out as the headline fixture, with Spurs travelling to Anfield for a meeting between two Premier League sides. Manchester United will also face a difficult test against Brighton, while Arsenal's trip to Ipswich gives the newly promoted side an opportunity to challenge the reigning Premier League champions.
The third-round matches will be played across the weeks commencing September 7 and September 14, with the exact dates and kick-off times to be confirmed.
