FULL LIST: FBI SAYS SIX MOST-WANTED FRAUDSTERS CAPTURED, $17BN SEIZED
The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation says six suspects on its Most Wanted Fraudsters list have been captured within three months of the initiative’s launch.
FBI Director Kash Patel said the suspects were allegedly linked to fraud schemes involving more than $2 billion. Their arrests spanned three continents, following a combined period of more than 4,000 days on the run.
Among those identified was Emylee Thai, who allegedly participated in a Medicare fraud scheme involving more than $100 million. The FBI announced her capture in September.
Another suspect, Manjit Singh Bedi, was returned from India to the United States in October to face allegations involving fraudulent food-assistance payments.
The bureau credited cooperation with international law enforcement partners for helping locate and apprehend the suspects.
The arrests concern allegations that must be determined through the courts.
