FUEL SUBSIDY SAVINGS REPORT TO BE RELEASED SOON, SAYS OYEDELE

The Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, Taiwo Oyedele, has said a report on the savings from the removal of fuel subsidy will soon be released.

Oyedele said the report will provide details on how funds previously spent on fuel subsidies have been redirected and the impact of the policy on government finances and the economy.

He noted that transparency remains important in helping Nigerians understand the benefits and challenges associated with the subsidy reform.

Economic analysts said publishing the report could improve public confidence, especially as citizens continue to feel the effects of higher fuel prices and increased living costs.

They added that clear information on subsidy savings and their utilisation would help assess whether the policy is achieving its intended objectives, including improving fiscal stability and funding critical development projects.
