FRSC LAUNCHES NEW DRIVE TO STANDARDISE DRIVING SCHOOLS, STREAMLINE LICENSING IN ANAMBRA
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State, led by Sector Commander Joyce Alexander, has rolled out a fresh initiative aimed at improving standards in certified driving schools and enhancing transparency and efficiency in the driver’s license issuance process.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the Sector Public Education Officer, Margaret Onabe, the command—in partnership with the Driving School Proprietors Association of Anambra State—has produced banners listing FRSC-accredited driving schools. These banners will be displayed at all driver's license centres across the state.
Onabe explained that the initiative is intended to achieve several objectives: to educate the public and prospective drivers on which schools are officially recognised by the FRSC, to discourage enrollment in unregistered or substandard institutions, and to improve adherence to the Driving School Standardisation Programme.
She further noted that the campaign will help curb the use of fake training certificates by promoting awareness of legitimate training providers, while also fostering accountability and professionalism within the state's driving school sector.
"The ultimate goal," Onabe added, "is to uphold the credibility of the National Driver’s License Scheme and support the Corps’ broader mission of improving road safety in Anambra."
The FRSC expects the initiative to play a key role in reducing road accidents and ensuring safer driving practices across the state.
