FROM NOLLYWOOD TO NIGERIA’S BIGGEST ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGICAL STAGE — NOLLYWOOD ICON EMEKA IKE TO HOST NAP 2026

Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike is set to host NAP 2026, an event positioned as a major platform for engineering and technological innovation in Nigeria.

The announcement brings together Nigeria’s entertainment and technology sectors, highlighting the growing use of celebrity hosts to attract public attention to professional exhibitions, industry gatherings and innovation-focused events.

Emeka Ike is widely recognised for his contributions to Nollywood, having featured in numerous films throughout his acting career. His involvement in NAP 2026 is expected to bring additional visibility to the event and help connect its technical focus with a broader audience.

Engineering and technology are increasingly important to Nigeria’s economic development, with applications spanning manufacturing, construction, energy, telecommunications, transportation and digital services. Events that bring professionals, businesses, researchers and investors together can provide opportunities to exchange ideas, showcase innovations and establish partnerships.

For young Nigerians, such gatherings can also create opportunities to learn about emerging technologies, explore career paths and connect with professionals working across technical industries.

NAP 2026 is expected to draw attention to developments in engineering and technology, although further details about its programme, exhibitors, venue and participating organisations would help clarify the scale and focus of the event.

The involvement of a familiar entertainment personality could also help make technical subjects more accessible to audiences who might not ordinarily follow industry exhibitions.

As Nigeria continues to explore ways to strengthen its technological capacity and industrial development, platforms that encourage collaboration between professionals and the wider public can play a useful role.

With Emeka Ike announced as host, attention will now turn to the event's programme and the innovations, industry discussions and networking opportunities it will offer participants.
