FROM KHAKI TO LEADERSHIP: NYSC DG TELLS CORPS MEMBERS TO STEP INTO THE FUTURE WITH VISION
“Be the Leaders Nigeria Needs,” NYSC DG Tells Outgoing Corps Members
As thousands of young Nigerians complete their national service, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, has sent a powerful message to the 2024 Batch 'B' Stream II corps members: lead with innovation, courage, and vision.
In a statement shared on Thursday via the official NYSC X (formerly Twitter) handle, the DG congratulated the corps members on successfully completing their one-year mandatory service. He commended their efforts in nation-building, through projects and assignments in sectors like education, health, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Corps Members as they celebrate the successful completion of their mandatory service year,” he said.
“Your hard work and commitment to building a new Nigeria have not gone unnoticed.”
Looking ahead, Brigadier-General Nafiu urged the outgoing corps members to face the future with boldness and purpose, encouraging them to be agents of positive change wherever they go.
“Be open to change, lead with confidence and innovative ideas. Go forth and represent the NYSC as its proud ambassadors,” he added.
The NYSC DG emphasized that resilience, creativity, and leadership are more important than ever in today’s rapidly changing world. He reminded the corps members that while their service year may be over, their journey as nation-builders is just beginning.
As these young Nigerians return to their communities, workplaces, and entrepreneurial pursuits, the message is clear: the future belongs to those who are ready to shape it.
