FREE NNAMDI KANU FOR PEACE TO REIGN – PASTOR GIWA ADVISES TINUBU
The Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has urged President Bola Tinubu to order the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to restore peace in the Southeast region.
Speaking in a statement issued on Friday, Pastor Giwa said freeing Kanu would promote national unity and stability, stressing that if the government could pardon convicted criminals, then Kanu deserved to be released.
“Let me advise and beg President Bola Tinubu to, as a matter of urgency, free Nnamdi Kanu from incarceration,” he appealed.
“If the federal government could pardon criminals who had killed a good number of people, there is a need to free Kanu from prison.”
The cleric also recalled that in 2022, the Court of Appeal in Abuja, under Justice Oludotun Adebola, had discharged and acquitted Kanu of all charges brought against him by the federal government.
Pastor Giwa described the continued detention of the IPOB leader as an act of “injustice, cruelty, and politics.”
He further emphasized that peace was critical for the country’s progress, adding:
“President Tinubu should set him free to allow peace to reign. Peace is essential for achieving great results because it reduces stress, improves focus, and fosters a mindset that supports creativity and better decision-making.”
