Four Years After Disappearance, BUK Student Found Alive Living With Islamic Cleric in Kaduna
After four long years of heartbreak and unanswered questions, the family of Shafiu Auwal Ibrahim, a former student of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has finally found him alive, living with an Islamic cleric in Kaduna State.
Shafiu, who was a resident of the Janbulo area in Kano, mysteriously went missing in 2021, leaving his family, friends, and loved ones in deep distress. Despite years of searching and countless efforts to trace him, all attempts yielded no result. Eventually, his family began to fear the worst, believing he might never return.
However, in a surprising twist, the family’s hope was rekindled recently when they received information that led them to a remote village in Kaduna. There, they found Shafiu—alive and living with an Islamic scholar who claimed to have taken him in years ago.
According to one of his relatives, the cleric explained that when he first met Shafiu, the young man appeared to be mentally unstable, prompting him to offer shelter and care.
“He was found in a village in Kaduna with a cleric who said he met him a long time ago. The cleric explained that when he first saw Shafiu, he was not mentally sound,” the relative said.
The emotional reunion brought immense joy to Shafiu’s family, who had endured years of worry and uncertainty. His parents expressed gratitude to God and everyone who supported them during the painful years of his disappearance.
Family members have confirmed that Shafiu is now back home, safe, healthy, and calm, as they continue to help him reintegrate into normal life.
