The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned four security guards for allegedly betraying their employer’s trust and looting valuables worth N100 million from her home in Ikeja GRA.

The suspects — Natufo Olufemi, Tomiwa Teojon, Uche Peter, and Adam Mohammed (allegedly the receiver of the stolen goods) — were brought before the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court, sitting at Tinubu, to answer charges of conspiracy, burglary, and theft.

According to police reports, the guards allegedly broke into the residence of Princess Chichi Ojei, located at 11A/11B Sasegbon Street, GRA, Ikeja, between January and July 2025, while she was away. The items stolen were reportedly sold to Mohammed before the guards disappeared.

On her return, Princess Ojei was shocked to find her home ransacked and her guards missing. She quickly petitioned the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, AIG Adegoke Fayoade, who ordered a discreet investigation. Acting on intelligence, detectives tracked down the suspects in a Lagos hideout and arrested them.

During court proceedings, Police Prosecutor ASP Ibrahim Haruna told the court that the defendants “deliberately breached the trust of their employer by conspiring to steal her property.”

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Presiding Chief Magistrate O.O. Olatunji granted each defendant bail in the sum of N5 million, with two sureties in like sum. The case has been adjourned until October 17, 2025, for further hearing.
