Nigeria has lost one of its seasoned politicians, Senator Solomon Ewuga, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (State) and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ewuga reportedly passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. His death was confirmed by family members in Akwanga and Nasarawa-Eggon, who noted that burial arrangements would be announced in due course.

Born in Nasarawa State, Ewuga held several significant positions in the course of his political career. He served as Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State and later represented Nasarawa North Senatorial District in the 7th Senate. He was also appointed Minister of State for the FCT, where he played a key role in the administration of the nation’s capital.

Beyond politics, Ewuga was widely respected for his resilience and commitment to public service. In 2021, he endured the trauma of kidnapping, an incident that shook the political landscape of Nasarawa State.

Until his passing, he remained a strong voice in the APC and a role model for many in his community and beyond. His contributions to national development, spanning from 1999 to date, are seen as a testament to his enduring legacy.

Tributes are expected to pour in from political allies, colleagues, and citizens who admired his decades of service to the country.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
