FOLARIN URGES OYO APC MEMBERS TO UNITE AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS
Former senator representing Oyo Central, Teslim Folarin, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State to put aside their differences and unite ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Folarin said unity, cooperation and effective grassroots mobilisation would be essential for the party to strengthen its position and improve its chances of winning elective offices in the state.
He urged party leaders, stakeholders and members to prioritise the collective interest of the APC over personal ambitions, warning that internal disagreements could weaken the party’s electoral prospects.
The former lawmaker stressed the need for sustained engagement with residents, particularly at the grassroots, to communicate the party’s policies and convince voters of its readiness to provide effective leadership.
He also encouraged members to resolve disputes through dialogue and established party structures rather than allowing disagreements to escalate into divisions that could benefit political opponents.
Folarin’s appeal comes as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, with parties beginning to strengthen their structures and position themselves for the forthcoming contests.
The APC has faced internal disagreements in several states over leadership, candidate selection and political influence. In Oyo, the call for unity reflects concerns about the need to establish a coordinated strategy capable of attracting supporters and consolidating the party’s presence across the state.
Folarin maintained that a united party would be better positioned to mobilise voters, defend its political interests and challenge rival parties at the polls.
He urged members to remain committed to the party’s objectives and work collectively towards building a stronger organisation ahead of the elections.
