FLAMINGOS SET FOR 2025 U-17 WOMEN’S WORLD CUP WITH FRIENDLIES AGAINST NEW ZEALAND AND PARAGUAY
Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos, are stepping up preparations for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup with two key international friendlies.
Coach Bankole Olowokore’s girls will face New Zealand in their first warm-up match on Friday, October 10, before squaring off against Paraguay on Tuesday, October 14. These matches are expected to test the team’s readiness and give them valuable international exposure before the global tournament kicks off.
The Flamingos are scheduled to depart Nigeria for Morocco on Wednesday to begin the final phase of their training camp. The team will travel via Royal Air Maroc from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Drawn in Group D, Nigeria will face Canada, France, and Samoa in what promises to be an exciting group stage challenge. With these friendlies lined up, the young Nigerian side aims to fine-tune their tactics and build strong chemistry ahead of the big stage.
